Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Short version: Randiculous gives you estimates and a bit of a roast. It is not financial advice. Check the real numbers with your bank, dealer or a registered financial adviser before you sign anything.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use apply to your use of randiculous.co.za, its calculators, downloadable reports, share links and QR codes (together, "Randiculous", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Not financial advice

Randiculous is not an authorised financial services provider under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002 (FAIS), nor a registered credit provider under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005. We do not sell, recommend or arrange any financial product, vehicle, loan or investment.

All calculations, figures, projections, reports and commentary are general information for educational and entertainment purposes only. They do not take your personal circumstances, objectives or financial needs into account and are not financial, investment, tax, legal or credit advice. Before making a financial decision, speak to an appropriately authorised financial adviser, credit provider or dealer.

3. Estimates and assumptions

Results depend on the information you enter and on our default assumptions, including vehicle prices, interest rates, fuel and electricity prices, depreciation, tyre, maintenance, insurance and licence costs. Defaults are illustrative snapshots from dated sources and may be out of date or not suited to your situation. Real quotes, finance offers, resale values and running costs will differ.

You can see our formulas and assumptions on the How we calculate page.

4. Humour and Auntie Randie

The roasts, verdicts and comments from Auntie Randie are generated by fixed rules and are meant as light-hearted satire. They are not a credit assessment, a judgement of your character or a statement about any real person. If a joke ever lands badly, tell us and we'll look at it.

5. Acceptable use

  • Use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Do not scrape, copy or resell our calculators, vehicle catalogue, reports or content without written permission.
  • Do not try to disrupt, overload, hack or reverse-engineer the site.
  • Do not use the site for anything unlawful.

6. Sharing your results

You're welcome to download, print and share your own reports, links and QR codes. Remember that a share link or QR code contains the figures you entered, so anyone you share it with can see them.

7. Intellectual property

The Randiculous name, logo, Auntie Randie character and artwork, website design, report layouts, text and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. Vehicle names and brands belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the vehicles. Randiculous is not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer, dealer, bank or SA Rugby.

8. No warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent allowed by law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, we make no warranties that the site or its results are accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Randiculous and its owners, contributors and suppliers are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from your use of the site or from any decision, purchase, contract or credit agreement you make based on its results. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under South African law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Links to other sites

We may link to sources such as fuel price or tariff publishers. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

11. Changes

We may update these terms and the site from time to time. The date at the top shows when the terms last changed. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
