1. Who we are

Randiculous (randiculous.co.za) is the responsible party for this website under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). You can contact us at privacy@randiculous.co.za.

2. Your calculator inputs stay on your device

The figures you enter, such as car choices, prices, deposits, interest rates and distances, are calculated in your own browser. To save you retyping them, they are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. We don't receive or store them.

You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for randiculous.co.za.

3. Reports, share links and QR codes

PDF reports are created inside your browser and downloaded straight to your device. Share links and QR codes contain your scenario figures inside the link itself, compressed, rather than on our servers. Anyone who has the link can open those figures, so only share it with people you're happy to show your numbers to.

4. What we do collect

• Technical logs: our hosting providers automatically record basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of visit, to keep the site secure and running.
• Visit statistics: we may count visits and page views in aggregate to understand which calculators are useful. We don't use this to identify you.
• Messages you send us: if you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.

We don't ask for your ID number, bank details or income for an account, and we don't use your information for credit scoring, profiling or selling to marketers.

5. Cookies

We use browser storage only to remember your calculator inputs. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

6. Sharing and cross-border transfers

We don't sell or rent personal information. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical logs on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we use reputable providers bound by data-protection obligations that are substantially similar to POPIA, as required by section 72.

7. How long we keep information

Technical logs are kept only as long as our providers need them for security and operations. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your request. Anything stored on your device stays there until you clear it.

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the small amount of information we handle.

9. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, to see it, and to ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to how it is processed. Email privacy@randiculous.co.za and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

10. Children

Randiculous is meant for adults making grown-up money decisions. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

If we add features such as accounts, newsletters or analytics cookies, we'll update this policy before they go live. The date at the top shows the latest version.
